Happy 2025!

It's the new year!  New Year goals for 2025?

Good oral health refers to the overall well-being of the mouth, teeth, gums, and surrounding structures, characterized by:

  1. Healthy Teeth: Teeth that are free from decay, cavities, or significant damage. Properly aligned teeth without significant gaps or misalignments also contribute to good oral health.
  2. Healthy Gums: Gums that are pink, firm, and free from inflammation, bleeding, or infection (like gingivitis or periodontitis). Healthy gums support teeth and prevent tooth loss.
  3. Fresh Breath: A lack of bad breath (halitosis), which can be caused by poor oral hygiene, gum disease, or other health conditions.

  • Absence of Pain or Discomfort: A lack of toothaches, gum pain, or sensitivity when eating or drinking hot, cold, or sweet foods.

  • No Oral Diseases or Infections: The absence of conditions such as cavities, gum disease, mouth sores, and oral infections.
  • Proper Functioning: Ability to chew and speak without difficulty or discomfort, ensuring that the mouth, teeth, and jaws are working in harmony.

Maintaining good oral health involves regular brushing, flossing, and visiting a dentist for checkups and cleanings, along with a healthy diet and avoiding harmful habits like smoking or excessive sugary food and drink consumption.  Is it time for your dental examination and cleaning?  Contact Amundson Dental Associates today at (701) 772-0171
